Grant Awarded to Hednesford Playgroup

Graham Burnett Trust Grant

The Graham Burnett Trust is delighted to award its first grant to Scallywags Playgroup.

Scallywags has been successful in applying for a grant of over £800 to fund a video intercom system and new secure fire door adding extra security and protection for their young children.

The inaugural grant was funded after the creation of the trust fund which is intended to celebrate the life of Graham Burnett and to ensure a lasting impact for the town he loved so much. Graham’s wife, Debbie Burnett, who established the Trust explained “Graham was ‘Mr Hednesford’. After his death it seemed only right to use his legacy for the continued development of his town and the communities that serve it”.

Scallywags Playgroup Manager Michelle extended the thanks of all of its patrons noting the impact that the equipment will have on the safeguarding of its families and the children in their care.

The Graham Burnett Trust is working to benefit the community of Hednesford in memory of Graham who passed away in June 2017.

We welcome grant applications from local organisations and individuals!

I listened to Councillor Burnett speak several times during public planning application meetings at Cannock Chase District Council. He was very impressive with all his local knowledge of the area and how an application would effect neighbours and the ANOB. He is a sad loss and greatly missed.
